Indie Memphis Film Festival
Miriam Bale is the Artistic Director of the Indie Memphis Film Festival. She has written on film for The New York Times, the New York Daily News, The New Republic, Indiewire, Sight and Sound, W Magazine, Film Comment, The Hollywood Reporter, Filmmaker and other publications. Balewas the founding director of the La Di Da Film Festival in New York. She has organized film programs at Anthology Film Archives, BAMCinématek, 92Y, Yerba Buena Arts Center, and Flaherty NYC.
Knox Shelton is the Executive Director of the Indie Memphis Film Festival. He is a veteran nonprofit administrator who previously served four years as executive director of Literacy Mid-South which he joined in 2015 following his work with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis. He was selected for his current position by the Indie Memphis board after a nationwide search to fill the role. Knox is the third salaried Executive Director in the history of the festival.
